Name the Sync Group

Each sync group must have a unique name. It is helpful if the name is also meaningful.
  1. Navigate to the SQL Azure Management Portal.

  2. After the page finishes loading the add-ins, click Data Sync in the left pane.

  3. From the Subscriptions tree in the left pane, find and expand the subscription where you provisioned the SQL Azure Data Sync server. (Figure 1:1)
If you have not provisioned a SQL Azure Data Sync server see the topic SQL Azure Data Sync Provision a Data Sync Server before continuing.

  4. Select Sync Groups under this subscription. (Figure 1:2)

    Figure 1: Select Sync Groups

This enables both Get Started with Data Synchronization buttons in the right pane and the Create button in the ribbon.

  5. Click either of the Get Started with Data Synchronization buttons or Create in the ribbon.

If you click either of the buttons under Get Started with Data Synchronization a tutorial walks you through the step-by-step process to create a sync group.
If you click Create you create a sync group without the step-by-step walkthrough.
  6. Enter a unique and meaningful name for this sync group in the text box then press Enter. (Figure 2)
