Symptoms
When you are on a Lync call or in a Lync conference, a message appears stating that your computer is running slowly and is causing poor audio quality.
Cause
You might have too many programs running at the same time on your computer. Or, you might need to use a different audio that is optimized for use with Lync.
Resolution
Try the following:
- Close any programs you're not currently using.
- Make sure your computer’s device drivers are up-to-date. Check for updates for your computer, for example, by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
- Try using a different audio device. For a list of devices optimized for Lync 2010, see Phones and Devices Qualified for Microsoft Lync.
If the problem persists, transfer the call to a regular landline by doing the following:
- In the Lync conversation window, click the Transfer button.
- Click Another Person or Number, and then in the dialog box that is displayed, type in the phone number you want to transfer the call to, and then click OK.
